This feature prevents multiple users working on the same document that will cause a collision. This office suite highlights file locking that allows you to securely edit files in cloud storage like iCloud or Dropbox. But when you and your team work on the same document at the same time, it may lead to a problem. Working collaboratively is a great way to enhance productivity. Here are main features you will not find in LibreOffice or OpenOffice. To achieve this goal, NeoOffice is packed with loads of features that are useful to work with any documents. NeoOffice FeaturesĪs a versatile office suite for Mac, it allows you to bring work productivity to another level. In order to make this office suite program run well, be sure your device runs macOS 10.12 or higher. In addition to basic functionality, it is added with some features that are not available in similar programs of Mac versions like Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice. It uses most features of, including spreadsheet processor, presentation program, word processor, and graphic programs. Initially launched in 2003, this open-source program is developed by Planamesa Inc. I don't think it is possible as the marking of dirty appears to be controlled by the Format :: Page dialog itself and, to date, I have been unable to get a handle to that dialog from where the File :: Printer Settings menu code.NeoOffice is an office suite designed for Mac. Would it be possible, when changing paper orientation in File > Printer Settings…, to notify NeoOffice of the change directly (so that the document can be saved without having to make additional changes first)? ![]() If you change the paper orientation in File > Printer Settings…, go to Format > Page and click OK, then the document becomes dirty and NeoOffice lets you save. When changing paper orientation in File > Printer Settings…, on the other hand, this doesn't happen (thus, if you close and re-open the document, the paper orientation is reset to what it was before). While comparing Patch 11 Test 2 to Patch 11 before closing bug 2937, I discovered a small issue with this new feature.Ĭhanging the paper orientation in Format > Page, and clicking OK, makes the document "dirty" (NeoOffice recognizes that a change has been made, and lets you save the document). So, if you specify scaling greater than 100%, content enlarge and push off the right and bottom sides of the content. What should happen is that the same number of pages will get printed regardless of the scaling factor used and each page will be scaled from the top-left corner of the content. Since the Format :: Page option has no scaling attribute, there is no OOo attribute that I can specify for this so scaling has no affect on OOo pagination. The scaling feature in NeoOffice is much more limited than in Apple applications like TextEdit and Safari. That doesn't occur in TextEdit where I got a 3 pages file. If you try to scale to more than 100%, you still get two pages, with the beginning of the document on the first page and the end on the second page. If you set the Scale to 100% or less than 100%, that works fine. I noticed an issue with the Scale setting. I was able to set Orientation in Printer Settings with no problem. You can test this new feature by installing the following test patch: Specifically, due to the way that NeoOffice's underlying code works, updating settings in the Format :: Page menu will not show up in the File :: Printer Settings menu. One thing to note that is that while changes in the File :: Printer Settings menu will update the settings in the Format :: Page menu, the reverse still will not work. If people can test it out and make sure that it does not break NeoOffice, we can include this feature in the NeoOffice 2.2.3 release. This new feature is available in the following test patch. Well I have finally figured out how to force changes in the File :: Printer Settings menu to update the settings that are displayed in the Format :: Page menu. One annoyance for many NeoOffice users has been that changing the orientation or paper size settings in the File :: Printer Settings menu did nothing and these settings could only be set using the Format :: Page menu.
